Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles. (Proverbs 21:23 KJV)
When I read this verse from the holy bible, I was wandering how it is possible that the tongue and mouth become an important part of human life both physically and spiritually also. The Holy spirit taught me , read the first book of the Bible, Genesis, it clearly declares that the entire universe, whole gamut of stars, all the plant, Animals, Rivers, oceans and land were formed on face of the earth with the help of word which came through the Lord God. When Lord God said “Let there be light!” there was light indeed. So it means God indeed pays a high importance to word, so it is particularly warned by King Solomon who was granted extreme intelligence and wisdom in entire human civilization declares by the guidance of Holy Spirit in this verse of Proverbs to use it with extreme caution.
The whole basis of life is attached with tongue and word of mouth as explained by Peter For “he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:” (1 Peter 3:10 KJV) But if we do not keep a check, our prayers will not be answered “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12 KJV)
Further more explained “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasted great things. Behold how great a matter a little fire kindle! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defile the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. There with bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? Either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.” (James 3:5-12 KJV)
So what should we do?, it is explained in Paul “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” (Ephesians 5:19-20 KJV). King David declares “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalms 150:6 KJV)
Amen and Amen………………………..
