Obedience

When we hear this word obedience, immediately our mind flashes with school days when we were taught to be obedient and disciplined in the school. This has been the main focus of Holy Bible also. Genesis to Revelation, both the Old Testament and the new testament again and again remind us to be obedient to our God Jesus. Now living in Modern world where everybody is selfish about his or her motive, who cares about obedience? Or what is the benefit of being obedient towards God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit? The answer to such questions is given in the Bible. When Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of Good news and kingdom of God, he further went to Simon at the lake of Gennesaret. And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, JESUS CHRIST said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net break. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shall catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. (Luke 5:2-11 KJV)

Now this is called obedience they had tried and tried and now they had given up but when JESUS Christ told them to do what they have been doing all night, they resisted, but after hearing the command of Master Jesus they obeyed and fetched the high rewards from the same sea where they have been not able to catch any fish since last night.

As a Believer of JESUS CHRIST, same conditions come to us also, when everything is a disappointment and depression and rejection for us, but are we ready to follow our master’s command? Do we obey his sweet gentle voice which we hear in our soul?

Today is time to obey it and do as JESUS says no to the others no matter the world tells you that this is foolishness or insane.

Obedience → Blessing → Faith, Peace and Joy in JESUS CHRIST
