Jericho is name of city located near Jordan River in the west bank on global map. This city is described in Holy Bible as city of Palm trees in 2 chronicles 28:15. Jericho is land of promise where rivers of honey and milk flow. It is land of peace and blessings. Israelites were not allowed to enter it. Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of Bnei-Yisrael—no one going out and no one coming in. (Joshua 6:1). Satan has closed the door of entering into the land of peace. No what could be done in such a situation?
Let us look into the book of Joshua again to find the answer to this question. After the Passover in land of Canaan, the manna had stopped, they had eaten the produce of the land. Joshua lifted up his eyes in prayer for help from Adonai Elohim Jehovah. Now it came to pass when Joshua was near Jericho that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man standing in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua approached him and said to him: “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” “Neither,” he said. “Rather, I have now come as commander of Adonai’s army.” Then Joshua fell on his face to the ground and worshipped. Then he asked him, “What is my lord saying to his servant?” Then the commander of Adonai’s army replied to Joshua, “Take your sandal off of your foot, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. (Joshua 5:13-15)
A man appeared to Joshua who is the commander of Lord Jehovah’s army. Who is he? What is his name? HIS NAME IS YESHUA MESSIAH. The book of revelation describes; then the seventh angel trumpeted, and there were loud voices in heaven saying, “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Anointed One. And He shall reign forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders seated on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, (Revelation 11:15-16) see the similarity in scriptures mentioned in book of Joshua and Revelation.
This is a spiritual battle which is being manifested in life of every believer, but do not be afraid because we have to just witness the battle. “Then I said to you, ‘Don’t tremble or be afraid of them. Adonai your God, who goes before you, He Himself will fight for you—just as He did for you in Egypt before your own eyes, and in the wilderness, where you saw how Adonai your God carried you as a man carries his son, everywhere you went until you came to this place.’ (Deuteronomy 1:29-31). The walls of Jericho will surely fall. You will receive the blessings.
