What is Prayer?

Prayer in the Holy Bible is a different experience with living God which is not found anywhere else. Prayer is not a monotonous recitation of our individual, requirements, family requirements or social requirements on a daily or weekly basis only as generally acknowledged in traditional ritualistic view of Christianity. Prayer is a mighty weapon of our spiritual warfare. Since the creation of mankind, there is only one foe for the mankind i.e. Lucifer or Satan and his legions. They are also known as wicked or evil forces working in high places which basically block blessings and answers to our prayer from our loving God.
Spiritual Warfare is a as real as taking respiration by a person. We cannot live without breathing for a moment, similarly we are constantly attacked by wicked forces of the evil one in our daily lives. It is not one person or group of persons who are our rivals, rather it is demonic forces of evil ones who are controlling their thoughts, desires and decision with contaminating their thoughts to act against us.
While David a God-fearing person, shepherd boy defeated Goliath and killed him by grace of God, later became king of Israel. Everyday being a king and managing variety of tasks was tough and King David understood very well that he required divine guidance. In the Holy Bible, Major portion of book of Psalms is written by king David, for instance Psalms 70 mentions about deliverance from wicked and crying for My help from My deliverer. There are various other psalms which are significantly know to majority of Christian believers such as Psalms 23 for journey, Psalms51 for submission, sanctification and so on. To stand in the spiritual warfare and protect our self against the wicked forces of darkness, we basically require faith which come by reading the word of God and prayer.
Lord Jesus Christ taught us “But you, when you pray, enter into your room. And shutting your door, pray to your Father in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly. But when you pray, do not babble vain words, as the nations. For they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard. (Matthew 6:6-7)”. Satan the deceiver brings lot of disturbing thoughts when we wish to pray with a deep anguish and pain, claiming the living word of God i.e. his promises for our help and divine protection eases the blockage of disturbing thoughts leading to development of intimacy with Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ himself instructed us to close our room by shutting your mind against variety of thoughts. It is possible only by Lord Jesus Christ because he is the word who became flesh and who is the way, the truth and the Life.
Halleluiah!!!
What a mighty God we serve, who take us on path of righteousness. The journey begins here like Elijah (As it is written in 1 Kings’ chapter 19) we start to hear the sweet gentle and clear voice of Holy Spirit which brings conviction in our heart as it is written “The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away. (Matthew 24:35)”.
