Mankind is struggling with failure, rejection, disappointment, delays,
in-eligibility in their lives. Mankind wants success in their life, nothing
wrong in desiring it. King Solomon, one of the richest and wisest King of
Israel who wrote Proverbs under the guidance of Holy Spirit, somewhere in 970 to
931 BCE. Proverbs is still true in guiding our lives. The reward of humility and fear of Adonai Yeshua or Messiah is riches, honour and life. (Proverbs 22:4).
What is humility? Let us try to understand it by the example of a man known
as Moses who was an Israelite, raised up as a prince in Egypt, later ran away
from Egypt and became a shepherd. He was sent by God to rescue Israelites after
430 years of under Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt.
The Israelites prepared a Golden Calf when Moses return was delayed from
Mount Sinai. Adonai said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and behold, it is a
stiff-necked people. Now, therefore, leave Me alone, so My wrath may burn hot
against them, and so I may consume them—and make from you a great nation!”
Then Moses sought Adonai his God and said, “Adonai, why should Your wrath burn
hot against Your people, whom You have brought forth out of the land of Egypt
with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘He brought them out to do evil,
to slay them in the mountains, and to annihilate them from the face of the
earth?’ Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this destruction against
Your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Your servants, to whom You
swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your seed as the
stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your
offspring, and they will inherit it forever.’” So Adonai relented from the
destruction that He said He would do to His people. (Exodus 32:12-14). Moses who himself disappointed by the bad behaviour of Israelites is
praying to the Lord Adonai Jehovah for mercy upon them. This is called true humility,
rejecting personal opportunity and considering Israelites as important than himself.
Further, in the book of Numbers, it is written about Moses: Now the man Moses was very humble, more so than
anyone on the face of the earth. (Numbers
12:3) What a privilege, Lord God Adonai himself justify
Moses, further it is written; Not so with My servant Moses. In all My house, he
is faithful. I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles. He even
looks at the form of Adonai! Why then were you not afraid to speak against My
servant Moses?” (Numbers 12:7-8)
Next, we will be meditating on Fear of Adonai Yeshua, through the life of David.
A shepherd boy who was anointed by Prophet Samuel at a very young age later
faced many challenges in his life after defeating and killing Philistine Enemy
Champion Goliath, King Saul started to feel jealous due to anointing of God, David
had.
David spares Saul’s Life two times as mentioned in 1Samuel 24 & 26. David
spoke: “David added, “As Adonai lives, either Adonai will strike him down, or his
day will come to die, or he will go down to battle and be swept away. (1
Samuel 26:10)”
Later Saul died himself by falling on his own sword, in the battle against
Philistines. Later when David hear the death of Saul, he laments for Saul and
Jonathan. Despite
receiving continuous threat from Saul for his life, He struggled against Saul,
became fugitive, behaved like a maniac, even went to Philistines. David never
dared to harm or fight against Saul, the anointed one of the Lord. This is
called fear of the Lord.
Now when we work in our lives keeping fear of Lord and praying for others
no matter how they are treating us? We grow in humility and fear of the lord
through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. But as mentioned by King Solomon, the reward of humility and fear of Adonai Yeshua or Messiah is riches, honour and life. (Proverbs
22:4).
Riches are the main motivators of mankind on this earth. All of us want
luxuries, comforts, big mansions and so on in our lives. But these are not
riches for our lives, as it is mentioned; “The ransom of a man's
life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. (Proverbs 13:8) ”. Ransom from our sins, inequities, curses through
the blood of Lord Yeshua the Messiah is riches for an individual.
Honour comes when we align ourselves as per living scriptures; “Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be
turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight
of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.(James 4:9-10)”, when we humble ourselves in the sight of the
Lord, God lift us up giving Honour.
Life is found only in Lord
Yeshua our Messiah as he has declared; “Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and
the life! No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)”. Further Christianity is every day walking with Lord Yeshua our Messiah. The marks of True Christian are; “Do not be lagging in zeal; be fervent in spirit.
Keep serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, enduring in distress, persisting in
prayer, (Romans 12:11-12)”.
So, decide
today what you want to have in our life now and in future? God has given you
free will to choose in your life. Make a profitable decision for your life.
If you choose Lord Yeshua, do
not assume that struggle will end forever, rather you will have more challenges
to sharpen you in the will of Lord Yeshua. As it is written; Yet God chose the foolish things of the world so
He might put to shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world so
He might put to shame the strong; and God chose the lowly and despised things
of the world, the things that are as nothing, so He might bring to nothing the
things that are— so that no human might boast before God. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)
