Today we are going to meditate on the holy Bible passage given in 2kings
in chapter 4 and 8: A Shunammite who was a wealthy woman of Shunem, who
provided hospitality towards Elisha during his journey crossing Shunem. She was favoured by GOD due to her act of
hospitality. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit of the
Living GOD, Elisha performed three miracles in the life of Shunammite woman.
First Elisha prophesied for her, she was able to conceive and give
birth to a child even in mature age. Her shame of being barren was replaced by Honour
of being a mother by grace of GOD.
Secondly, Elisha raised Shunammite’s Son who was dead, by praying to the
Lord Jehovah. Sickness and curse of sin were taken by a resurrection miracle. The dead boy was brought to life.
Thirdly Shunammite’s Land was restored after seven years of famine by
the king, due to testifying the miracles witnessed by her even in the absence of
Elisha.
Our condition is like a Shunammite woman, we need RHEMA
(Prophetic word from our Lord Yeshua the Messiah) to move ahead in our
situations i.e., struggle due to sin. Similar
is the condition in the body of Christ i.e., all the members of the family have
to move under the guidance of the spirit of prophecy to move ahead in the struggle against
sin.
Prophecy is required to build up a church or the body of Christ. As it
is written: 1
Corinthians 14:3-4 But he who prophesies speaks to
men for building up, and exhortation, and comfort. The one speaking in a tongue builds himself
up, but he prophesying builds up a church.
Initially, Christianity was spread through house churches as mentioned
in the book of Acts across the globe, similarly, it is happening now in CHINA,
Christianity is flourishing due to house church movement despite the government
prohibitions. We need to learn a lot from our Chinese brothers and sisters in
Christ. So, are we waiting for such situations to happen in our place?
If your answer in NO, then now is the time to be in search of gifts of
Holy Spirit.
This is our aim in Christian life further explained by Apostle Paul in
his letter: Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God
rule in your hearts, to which you also are called in one body, and be thankful.
Request for the gift of prophecy to our Lord Yeshua our Messiah, it is
written in 2 John 1:9 Everyone transgressing and not
abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the
doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
Remember on Judgement day, we all have to stand before the throne of
Lord Yeshua as Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his
feet to worship him. And he said to me, See, do not do it! I am your
fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. WORSHIP GOD, FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.
