In, the gospel of Luke, Anna a prophetess is mentioned who never left the temple but
served God with fasting’s and prayers night and day as mentioned in Luke
chapter 2. Today we will focus on the temple and its relevance in Christian life.
In The simplest term temple is a house of worship. The background of the temple in
Christianity and Judaism go back to the ark of the covenant, which was placed in the holy
of holies in the tabernacle. The blueprint design of building the ark of the covenant
was given to Moses in Exodus chapter 25 from verses 10 onwards. The main
purpose of the ark of the covenant is mentioned in Exodus chapter 25 verse 22 i.e.,
to dwell, meet and communicate with HIS people. At the beginning as mentioned
in the book of Genesis, GOD created mankind to communicate which was interrupted
by SIN in the Eden garden.
The first temple of GOD was built by King Solomon as mentioned in the bible and the
second temple was built with a decree from Cyrus as mentioned in the book of
Ezra and Nehemiah. A third temple is a future event that will be the center point
of the world as mentioned in the book of Daniel chapter 9. So now we do not have a
temple structure present, does the bible gives us a road map to building a temple?
Yes,
it is a sequential process that begins by understanding How to accept us. As it
is written in Romans
3:23-25 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, (24) being
justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus; (25)
whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to
declare His righteousness through the passing by of the sins that had taken
place before, in the forbearance of God;
Two
things are essentially required i.e., first, the GRACE of GOD manifested only
through Lord Yeshua our Messiah and Second the Righteousness through FAITH.
Also known as LAW of FAITH as mentioned in verse 27. GRACE is a free gift, but
for attaining RIGHTEOUSNESS, an everyday battle has to be fought with faith.
We
achieve this faith as explained by Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For this cause we do
not faint; but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is being
renewed day by day. (17) For the lightness of our present
affliction works out for us a far more excellent eternal weight of glory,
(18) we not considering the things which are seen, but the things
which are not seen; for the things which are seen are not lasting, but the
things which are not seen are everlasting.
This
leads us to be sealed by the spirit of living God i.e., Holy Spirit as mentioned
in 2
Corinthians 1:22 And He has sealed us and having given the earnest of the
Spirit in our hearts.
My
dear brothers and sisters in Christ, remember we must make effort to be sealed
by Holy Spirit of GOD otherwise, in these end-times days, the time is approaching
very fast where we may deceptively be sealed by the seal of Antichrist which is
already given in the book of Revelation Chapter 7. Once we are sealed by mark
of Beast then there is no escape out, we chose to receive the wrath of living GOD
in our life.
So,
chose wisely today, make effort to be sealed by the Holy Spirit of living GOD, so
that we may become the temple of living GOD. Our lives become HIS dwelling place
through his SON Lord Yeshua our Messiah and by the dwelling of comforter forever i.e., the counsel of Holy Spirit. As it is written 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that
your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have of God? And you
are not your own.
Remember Lord Yeshua
our Messiah has paid a price for our redemption by laying down his own life at
the CROSS. Let us desire like king DAVID
as he mentioned in his Psalms 27:4 One thing I have desired from Jehovah, that I will
seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to pray in His temple.
