CONSECRATE THE ALTAR

Posted on: 13-03-2021

Altar creation is an ancient practice found in the book of Genesis chapter 8 verses 20 STARTED BY Noah in the holy bible. The word altar in the Hebrew LANGUAGE IS known as Mizbeaḥ, "a place of slaughter or sacrifice") in the Hebrew Bible.

An altar was made by mankind to Honour Lord God Jehovah with sacrifices. Five animals were mentioned in in the book of Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus i.e., Bull, Ram, Goat, Dove, and Pigeon. Prophet Ezekiel in chapter 43 from verses 17 onwards mentions young bull for the sin offering, followed by offering male goat with blemish finally by a young bull without blemish and a ram as an atonement completing with a sprinkling of salt.

This passage starts with mentioning about priest Levites who are the seed of Zadok to minister at the altar of Lord by offering a young bull as a sin offering in verse 18. Zadok is from the lineage of Eleazar who is from the house of Aaron as mentioned in 1 chronicle chapter 6 verses 50 to 53.

Young bull is offered as a sin offering for cleansing the altar. A bull is quite muscular in nature; they are domesticated for fieldwork in agriculture especially to plow the fields. Bulls represent our hearts which are stubborn, sacrifice our heart means a broken and contrite heart as mentioned by Psalmist in chapter 51 from verses 19 to 21. Our hearts try to run due to the presence of sin in us due to our lineage, we need to domesticate it with the living word of GOD.

Secondly, a Male Goat without blemish was to offered daily as a Sin-offering which represents our tongue. The tongue is always boasting self-righteousness, we need to guard our tongue as mentioned by The psalmist in Chapter 141 verse 3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. This has to be done daily to consecrate the altar of Living God in our lives.

The third animal is the young Ram represents our words of our mouth especially our consistent prayers to the living GOD. As the psalmist mentions in Psalm 143 Be gracious to your servants. Behold as the eyes of slaves to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a slave girl to the hand of her mistress so our eyes look to Adonai our GOD till HE shows us favour. This is not a ritualistic traditional prayer rather than a cry of heart-opening ourselves fully to the lord. Salt is required for purification of our hearts which is to be at peace and harmony with everyone, forgiving everyone who has done wrong with us to receive grace from the Lord Yeshua in our daily battle of life.

Lord Messiah Yeshua came into this world to be the eternal sacrifice for mankind as mentioned in the book of Hebrews 10:3-12, But in those sacrifices, there is a remembrance again of sins every year.  (4)  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.  (5)  Therefore when He comes into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You have prepared a body for Me.  (6)  In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have had no pleasure.  (7)  Then I said, Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God."  (8)  Above, when He said, "Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings and offering for sin You did not desire, neither did You have pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the Law),  (9)  then He said, "Lo, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first so that He may establish the second.  (10)  By this will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

(11)  And indeed every priest stands daily ministering and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.  (12)  But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right of God,

My dear brothers and sisters consecrate the altar of living GOD through holy Spirit fire in your life to be without blemish at the return of King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Messiah Yeshua.
