Messiah comes from the Hebrew word MASHIACH and means “anointed one” or “chosen
one.” The Greek equivalent is the word Christos or, in English, Christ.
Living GOD releases anointing on chosen one through HIS grace revealed by our faith and confession in Lord Yeshua our
Messiah.
Majority of Christian wants anointing in their
life, definitely required in Christian faith. However, the trouble begins when we
are unaware of what next with anointing? Anointing increases only when we use it not for
ourselves but for others.
This is the basic requirement if being
misunderstood can lead to a disastrous impact on our intimacy with Christ. Now
let us try to understand anointing through a passage given in 1 Samuel chapter
14, where preparation for battle is going between Israelites and Philistines.
King Saul’s son Jonathan moves towards another side of the valley towards the hillside towards the Philistine camp.
On his journey with a young man carrying his
armor, “Come, let’s cross over to
the garrison of these uncircumcised ones. Perhaps Adonai will work for us, for
nothing restrains Adonai from delivering whether by many or by few.”
Further, it is written: 1 Samuel
14:7-10 His armor-bearer answered him, “Do whatever is in your heart; go
ahead—I’m with you whatever your heart decides.” (8) Then Jonathan
said, “Here, we’ll cross over to the men, then let them see us. (9)
If they say to us: ‘Wait till we come to you,’ then we’ll stand still in our
place and will not go up to them. (10) But if they say, ‘Come up to us!’ then we will go up, for Adonai has
delivered them into our hand—that will be our sign.” Jonathan and the soldier stood at the bottom
of the hill where the Philistines could see them. The Philistines said,
"Look! Those worthless Israelites have crawled out of the holes where
they've been hiding." Then they yelled down to Jonathan and the soldier,
"Come up here, and we will teach you a thing or two!" Jonathan turned
to the soldier and said, "Follow
me! The LORD is going to let us win."
Further, he killed more than twenty soldiers, terror
spread in the camp pf Philistine, the earth quaked – it was trembling of GOD which
defeated the enemy. Jonathan was filled with the anointing of the lord to
take a bold step to move forward towards the enemy’s camp to proclaim victory over
them. Anointing means working with Living GOD.
Christos or
Messiah came into this world for one purpose i.e., mentioned 1 John 3:8 He that
committed sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. For
this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of
the devil.
Remember
the fool says in his heart: There is no
GOD. they are corrupt, commit injustice on daily basis. However, it is written:
1 John 2:27 BUT THE ANOINTING WHICH YOU RECEIVED FROM HIM ABIDES IN YOU, AND
YOU DO NOT NEED ANYONE TO TEACH YOU. BUT AS HIS ANOINTING TEACHES YOU
CONCERNING ALL THINGS, AND IS TRUE AND NO LIE, AND AS HE HAS TAUGHT YOU, ABIDE
IN HIM.
Our Lord Yeshua our Messiah said as it is mentioned in Luke 10:19 Behold, I give to you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the authority of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.
