Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. (Mat 13:44)
Here we see a strange parable by Jesus, afterall who in the world will find a treasure, hide it back, sell everything and buy the field?
Let us examine the parable:
First of all we must know that the person who owns the field either dosn't know that there is any treasure in his/her field or for him/her the hidden thing is not at all a treasure.
The second option fits here.
Secondly we must inspect the elements of the parable which are
Field - It is the World (Mat 13:38)
Treasure: The people of God, who do His will, walk in His paths and follow His Commandments. (Ex 19:5, dt 7:6, Songs 4:9,10,12, 5:2) His people are treasure for Him but not for the evil one who now claimes his ownership on the field after snatching the authority of it from the hands of Adam.
The Man: Jesus Himself. Being God He cannot go away from his own righteous path. He is the one who said, "Thou shalt not steal." (Ex 20:15) Hence to take us with him he sold everything thing He had i.e. He gave up His Glory, became man, counted among sinners, carried our curse and cross and died our death (gave His life) and bought the field (whole world).
Jn 1:29 - ...Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
1 Cor 6:20, 7:23 - You were bought with a price.
1 Pet 1:18,19 - ...you were not redeemed with corruptible things... but with the precious blood of Christ
Eph 2:17 - Christ brought us together through his death on the cross.
Hence if we study the parable now we find that Jesus gave up everything to buy the world so that He may establish the Kingdom of Heaven with His chosen people in a legitimate way on earth.
